“Slaughterhouse Five” by Kurt Vonnegut

I was aware that Kurt had died recently (2007) and that prompted me to try his work for the first time without knowing much about his style.

I can see why this is a classic war novel. It is unlike anything else I’ve read but it is quite anti-structure in its style of writing and I disliked that. I knew he rambled for a reason and ditto on the plot and character curve-balls so that was ok. I enjoyed it but am in no rush to read more of his work.

(read Spring 2009)
